Today, I called in to take care of some everyday business matters: cell phone bill, regular home bills, etc. All counting my pennies and talking to those ladies on the other end of the phone ~ you know, the Operators, that sound like they talk with their noses slightly plugged up. Usually, they talk so fast that I can't grasp what they are saying, yet their words keep going on and on. But my brain is still in 'reverse', still stumbling on what was said, and it can't catch up. So my brain 'crashes' because it can do nothing. It simply becomes overloaded, and then comes to a standstill. I find myself stuttering and stammering, not knowing where to start or what to say first.
So I tell them I have a brain injury. Through the telephone line, I can hear a sigh of relief, and visualize a mental 'slow down' and a slice of compassion as the Operator's own brain switches gear, inserting compassion and rerouting her words instead, now through a kinder, more accepting and tolerant place of origin. From then on, nothing but compassion and serving abound, and it is refreshing in a backwards way. To have suffered so much to get to this place is bittersweet.
But I want to thank all the helpful people on the other end of the phone, the other people who have added Quality of Life to mine. They cheer me up, root me on, endear themselves to me, and I want to know more about them, too. Alas, the workplace finally predominates and yet as we depart, I feel something. I have made a friend, helped a soul, lifted up a suffering soul that was quietly going through the motions of work. They, in turn, have empowered me with more strength. Our conversation was a meeting. It was meant to be. It was more than a conversation; it was a moment and a day to remember and to rejoice in, because our paths crossed through all the quagmires of the wicked, sick, wretched, and intolerable conditions we have had to bear. For me, it has been challenging and simply a FIGHT to live life over the last three years.
Through it all, and because of the phone call, we both smiled. One heart fed another, and one soul touched another in a dark place that only few know. We became friends.
I'll never forget you. I'm so glad I met someone who could listen to me, someone who was touched in just the right place and in just the right way. It's like a miracle, like the blossoming of a flower in all of its beauty, scent, and softness.
We have to stand together to change health care for women. We have to be snipers, not inaccurate bombs. Follow me here; follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, too. We are in for a ride and we need to be a FORCE. A positive, ethical, helping, driving FORCE that moves the health profession in the right direction. That is US. Like Katy Perry says, 'We are CHAMPIONS, fighters, with the eye of a Lion, and You're Going to hear me ROAR!' So ROAR! R-O-A-R, women, because
we WILL leave this world a better place for our daughters. ROAR!

You choose. Sit there and look pretty and do nothing, or get up and do something and ROAR! YOU shape the future for our daughters, my friend, YOU have the power. With God's help, we can make it through this storm. First, we have to realize that we are IN a storm. Quit looking at your shoes and your purses, ladies. Your lipstick and your boobs are insignificant in this battle, unless we are talking about breast cancer or ovarian cancer.

What Prompted me to Action?
I discovered Women's Issues that are active and before the FDA:
* I discovered that women have uterus cancer spread while big Corporations suck up their money.
* I discovered that in the USA, 40% of women over 45 years old have had a Hysterectomy.
* Studies show that 50% - 98% of women that go for a 2nd Opinion? Hysterectomy NOT needed.
* Half of hysterectomies take out normal ovaries. But ovaries make hormones that protect against MI.
* MI, myocardial infarction, heart attacks, heart disease, is the #1 Killer of Women (and men).
* Morcellation of the uterus is an unethical practice that causes patients to lose their dignity.
* The FDA says that over a certain dose, nickel is toxic.
* Yet the FDA approved Essure(R) nickel coil in the FALLOPIAN TUBES, killing women.
* Essure(R) can perforate the colon (E.Coli all over your insides now).
* Essure(R) can perforate the uterus, leading to hysterectomy.
* The most common side effect of Essure(R) 23% pregnancy rate. HUGE risk at a HUGE rate.
* "Informed Consent" can not possibly cover all the side effects of these procedures, or no woman
would take the risk.
* The American College of Ob/Gyn says the risk of morcellation is so small, that it does NOT need to be included in the Informed Consent. Risk = 1:415 to 1:1,000. You decide.
* Morcellation turns Stage I Uterine Cancer into Stage IV Cancer before the patient even wakes up from the hysterectomy.
* Only 15% of women are alive after morcellation of uterine cancer; most die in 2-3 years.
* Dr. Hooman Noorchashm put together Petition against Morcellation: GO SIGN.
* Dr. Noorchashm et al, submitted a paper on Morcellation; it was rejected by both the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. GOOD FOR YOU, DR. NOORCHASHM et al!
* Erin Brockovich put together Petition against Essure(R) coils for women: GO SIGN.
* Talisha Streit put together Petition against Conceptus, Corp, to take it off the market: GO SIGN.

***I think we need to address the Petitions to these two entities. No, I think we need to SLAM these two organizations NOW so they are bombarded with both issues, Morcellation and Essure. I do not know where the Essure(R) Petitions are going.

It is perfect timing to jump in and support Dr. Amy Reed and Morcellation in her and her husband's efforts to end this horriffic practice. But someone needs to organize it and we have to do it all at once.
